Vases and Tiles

In May 2020, Bjarne Werner Sørensen was invited to decorate the vases at Galleriet Hornbæk. This was the first time he worked with clay slips - colored, liquid fine clay that is then glazed and fired. This led to a whole new body of work in this medium in the years that followed. The form of "Hornbæk Krukken" is the result of a dialogue between Susanne Risom, the owner of Galleriet Hornbæk, and the artist Pylle Søndergård. The vase has an international character, with both Japanese and English ceramic traditions. The vase is about 70 centimeters high and has been thrown by one of the most skilled potters in Europe.
